Pars Plana Vitrectomy for Dropped Intraocular Lens and Scleral Fixation

Abstracts

This video illustrates a technique used for extraction of a luxated intraocular lens (IOL) in the vitreous cavity, using the vitreofagus as surgical instrument. Atraumatic IOL seizure technique avoid touching the retina and decrease the risk of IOL damage when it is used for fixation.
This technique consists on bringing the lens up to the anterior chamber by the haptic using only the vitreofagus tip aspiration, without cut.
