Ulnar lengthening/Reconstruction interosseous membrane in treatment of osteochondroma: case report
We lengthened the ulna using the external fixator with re-stabilization of the distal
radioulnar joint (DRUJ) with interosseous membrane reconstruction in 11-year-old boy with
multiple cartilaginous exostosis which indicated congenital deformity of his right, dominant
forearm, as type IIb of Masada’s classification. Lengthening of the ulna with resection of
exostosis at distal ulna and reconstruction of the distal part of the interosseous membrane
were performed. Excellent ranges of motion of the wrist and elbow were obtained 1 year
after the surgery. He had no pain with 92% of Grip strength compared with non-affected
side. Radiographs showed articular congruency the DRUJ and radiocapitellum joint.
