EPIRETINAL MEMBRANE WITH LAMELAR MACULAR HOLE - A WELL DOCUMENTED CASE OF ANATOMICAL SUCCESS
To present a case report of a patient with epirretinal membrane and its surgical treatment by pars plana vitrectomy and membrane peeling.
Follow-up of a case of epirretinal membrane causing macular distortion and it’s restoration after surgical treatment.
After surgical treatment, the macular anatomy was resected and visual acuity improved on affected eye.
Restoration of the retinal anatomic structure predominantly occurs within the first three months post epirretinal membrane peeling. An improvement of best corrected visual acuity and anatomic retinal restoration after ERM-removal varies in individuals. In this case we decided to perform membrane removal surgery, because of the prominent anatomical disturbances correlated with high severity of visual symptoms.
