HYBRID BSS-AIR SILICON OIL REMOVAL TECHNIQUE

Abstracts

We describe a safe/fast/feasible silicon oil extraction technique, which dispenses additional material. Initially, superior trocars must be left opened, and infusion set to 70 mmHg (95 cmH2O) Thus, passive extrusion occurs. Partial FAX allows active aspiration of remaining drops on BSS surface. Finally, AC washout is performed. This technique was accomplished in five patients over the last year (2017), with an average time of 10 min (7-15 min). No intraoperative complications occured.
