Abstract General Information

Title

Scleral buckle with inadvertent scleral perforation

Abstracts

42 year old male patient was diagnosed with small retinal break and rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in the temporal superior quadrant with foveal involvement. The patient performed an encircling scleral buckel using a 242 band. During the procedure there was an inadvertent scleral perforation and drenage of subretinal fluid. This complication didn't cause retinal perfuration and the patient had a favorable evolution, with visual acuity increase to 20/40 after 45 days of surgery.
