Unusual cataract surgery complication

Abstracts

A 74 years old female that showed a severe intraocular inflammation and retinal detachment eleven days after undergone cataract surgery in the right eye. The cataract surgeon informed that, during the procedure, an one-piece intraocular lens was posteriorly luxated and that he chose to leave the dropped lens in the posterior segment and implant a sulcus-placed three-pieces intraocular lens. Best corrected visual acuity was light perception.
