SUCCESSFUL REMOVAL OF A LARGE INTRAOCULAR FOREIGN BODY

Abstracts

A 43-year-old male patient with history of a metallic foreign body entering his right eye while working on his farm 6 hours earlier. He was not using protective eye glasses. At presentation, the best correct visual acuity of this eye was hand motion. Anterior segment examination was normal, but superior eyelid had a small laceration. At the fundoscopy was possible to see the foreign body in the superior nasal quadrant, so it was performed surgical exploration and pars plana vitrectomy.
