CASE OF CHOROIDAL DETACHMENT AFTER AN ANTIANGIOGENIC INTRAVITREAL INJECTION.

Introdução / Purpose

The main purpose of this study is to demonstrate a case of choroidal detachment after an antiangiogenic intravitreal injection.

Material e Método / Methods

The fundus images were performed with the wide-field retinal imaging system, to detect and locate the lesion and the ultrasonography to evaluate the most common diagnostic hypotheses.

Resultados / Results

Choroidal detachment was evidenced and caused by malperformed intravitreal injection using inadequate technique, which led to medication being applied in the choroid.

Discussão e Conclusões / Conclusion

This case demonstrates the importance of intra-vitreous drugs applications to be performed by retinologists, so that fewer complications after the procedure occur.
