HEADS UP INTRAOCULLAR FOREIGN BODY REMOVAL: MULTIPLE STRATEGIES, ONE GOAL

Abstracts

The video is about a pars plana vitrectomy of a 34-year old male, who presented with a history of a 5 milimeters intraocullar foreign body. The surgeon proceeded to dissection of perforation site. Initial attempts to remove the IOFB with mersilene suture loop and basket forceps were unsuccessful. A larger intraocular foreign body forceps was employed and the extraction, through the scleral perforating, was successful. A retinal dialysis, and a retinal break were blocked with photocoagulation.
