Dr. Daniela Ferrara received her medical degree in 1998 at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she also completed ophthalmology residency in 2001 and received a Master’s Degree in 2004. Dr. Ferrara completed her training at University of Sao Paulo, achieving a PhD degree in 2010. Dr. Ferrara moved to the United States in 2006 completing a research fellowship in medical retina in New York, and working for almost a decade on clinical trials. In 2012 she joined Tufts University in Boston as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, where her major research interests include multimodal imaging of the retina and choroid with focus on optical coherence tomography technologies. Since 2014 Dr. Ferrara also serves as Medical Director in Ophthalmology at Genentech Roche, leading innovative projects in biotechnology. Dr. Ferrara’s training and career are shaped to bring together research and clinical challenges, promoting scientific developments in both academic and industry settings.
