Title

CHALLENGING CASE OF RETINA NEOVASCULARIZATION

Summary

Young healthy female patient presented progressive low visual acuity in both eyes for one year, with sudden worsening in the left eye with two days of history. The fundus examination of the right eye showed vascular sheathing, retinal neovascularization posterior to the equator 360 degrees. The left eye presented an inoperable tractional retinal detachment. This patient denied any past medical history, except that her symptoms started after her pregnancy one year ago. Further laboratory and imaging work-ups were requested; all results were normal. Panretinal photocoagulation was performed in attempt to stabilize the right eye. Attention to some clinical findings on her ophthalmological exam led to her diagnosis, long after investigation.
